Access to the Grizzli

Skiing or walking via the ski lifts

  • By the Mélezet gondola: From the arrival point of the gondola, allow around 30 minutes' walk along the Repose piste.
  • By the Repose chairlift: Please note that you need a ski pass to use this lift.

Walking, with snowshoes or cross-country skis

For the more motivated, it is possible to go straight up the hill via two signposted routes:

Easy route (1h - 1h30 ascent)

  • Start from Saint-Anne.
  • Follow the climb up to the intersection with the ‘L'Avalanche’ snowshoe trail.
  • Follow the signs for Le Grizzli.

More challenging route

  • Take the Fontaine aux Oiseaux piste.
  • Beware of skiers: the first part can be done under the TSD de la Repose line to avoid the piste.
  • Turn right to reach the end of the schuss de la Forêt.
  • Walk 150 metres on the flat, then turn left where a sign indicates the hikers' path and the direction to Grizzli.
  • Follow the signs to the restaurant.

Le Grizzli can be reached on foot or on skis.

Le Grizzli is accessible on foot or by car during the summer season.

Access on foot by the Mélezet cable car (open from Sunday to Thursday included)

  • From the arrival point of the cable car, it's about a 30-minute walk along the Repose trail.

Access on foot via the hiking trails

If you're feeling more sporty, there are several paths leading up to Grizzli:

Easy route (1h - 1h30 ascent)

  • Start from Saint-Anne.
  • Follow the uphill path to the intersection with the ‘L'Avalanche’ snowshoe trail.
  • Follow the signs for Le Grizzli.

More challenging route

  • Take the Fontaine aux Oiseaux trail.
  • The first part can be done under the TSD de la Repose line.
  • Turn right to reach the end of the schuss de la Forêt.
  • Walk for 150 metres on the flat, then turn left where a sign indicates the hikers' path and the direction to Grizzli.
  • Follow the signs to the restaurant.

From the Perimeter

  • Reach the top of the cable car.
  • Take the Route de la Repose as far as the restaurant.

Access by car

From La Norma

Don't take the Sainte-Anne piste!

  • Head for the Chalets Hollandais car park.
  • Take the Chemin du Petit Bonheur dirt road.
  • Descend to the tarmac road and continue to a junction.
  • Take the right-hand road and follow the signs for Le Grizzli.
  • It's a 7km climb to the restaurant.

From Modane

Don't go up to La Norma!

  • After the La Norma roundabout, continue towards Val-Cenis.
  • About 1 km after the roundabout, look for a road on the right (keep your eyes peeled, if you reach the accrobranche park, you've gone too far!).
  • Take this road and follow the signs for Le Grizzli for the 7 km climb to the restaurant.

From the Haute-Maurienne

  • After the adventure park and the Nant bridge, continue for less than 1 km.
  • In a straight line, take a road on the left; there's still 7 km of climbing to do.

If you reach Villarodin, turn back: you've gone too far!
